Gold-medallist, record-holder, Sportsperson of the Year and now a NORQAINER: Marcel Hug
Marcel Hug – also known as “The Swiss Silver Bullet” – is a Paralympian athlete and gold-medallist in the T54 wheelchair racing events. As well as an impressive collection of gold medals and titles across World and European Championships, Marcel has also set numerous records. He began his career at the age of 10 in 1996 and turned pro in 2010. He’s participated in four editions of the Summer Paralympic Games and has consistently won world-class marathon events in New York City, London, Boston and Berlin.
In 2018, Marcel was recognised with a Laureus World Sport Award in the category “World Sportsperson of the Year with a Disability,” and received the award a second time in 2022.
His passion, tenacity and drive make him a fitting and welcome addition to our league of NORQAINERs. And as a leader in his field, the Silver Bullet knows what it takes to pave his own path in his own way.
