The Independence Skeleton Chrono 42mm returns in striking new colours, powered by the high-performance NORQAIN 8K Manufacture Calibre

Following last year’s highly successful launch in New York, NORQAIN proudly unveils two new editions of the Independence Skeleton Chrono 42mm in Grade 5 Titanium: one with purple detailing, and another with vivid jade green.

Both watches are powered by the independent family-owned Swiss watch company’s exclusive chronograph movement, the NORQAIN 8K Manufacture Calibre – a skeletonised flyback chronograph designed for adventurers and watch enthusiasts who demand precision and performance.

With their bold, high-performance profiles, these new Independence Skeleton Chrono 42mm models embody NORQAIN’s spirit of innovation and exploration – a timepiece for those who live by the “my life, my way” philosophy.

Making the grade: titanium cases and fresh colourways

Both models feature 42mm Grade 5 titanium cases, a lightweight yet exceptionally strong material that ensures each watch weighs just 94 grams. The Independence Skeleton Chrono 42mm Purple has a satin-finished skeletonised black and purple openwork dial, paired with a matching animal-cruelty-free rubber strap for a sleek and dynamic look.

The jade green model’s case has a special DLC coating designed to be stealthy and hard-wearing, and a satin-finished skeletonised black and jade green dial. The colour, also used in the watch’s animal-cruelty-free rubber strap, was taken from the unique shades found in natural jade stones. This model will be limited to 500 pieces, each featuring a case back engraved with “Limited Edition ONE of 500”.

Both watches feature NORQAIN’s signature customisable plate, located on the left case flank and available in Grade 5 titanium or black-coated DLC Grade 5 titanium. These can be personalised with an important date or motto, according to the owner’s wishes.

Back to the start: the exclusive NORQAIN 8K Manufacture Calibre

The introduction of the high-performance NORQAIN 8K Manufacture Calibre marks a milestone moment for the brand. Robust, precise, durable and visually crafted, this skeletonised automatic calibre features a flyback chronograph, allowing for seamless timing restarts at the push of a button – perfect for high-intensity sports, interval training, or competitive events where every second counts.

The NORQAIN 8K Manufacture Calibre was developed in partnership between NORQAIN and Manufacture AMT under the guidance of NORQAIN Founder and CEO Ben Küffer and NORQAIN Advisor to the Board Jean-Claude Biver. It was inspired by NORQAIN’s passions for the outdoors, adventure, and Swiss watchmaking excellence, and named after the “Eight-Thousanders”, the world’s 14 highest mountains, symbolising the brand’s relentless drive to push boundaries.

It also features a number of quality signifiers, including chronometer certification (COSC) for accuracy, a 62-hour power reserve, and a column wheel, which makes the chronograph activation sharper and more precise. Finishing touches that tell the story of NORQAIN’s beginnings in the Swiss mountains include cutaway sections in the skeletonised dial in the shape of mountains, and a repeating NORQAIN double-N logo engraving that adorns the movement’s oscillating weight.
