NORQAIN introduces 78-gram wild one with skeletonised movement in two striking colours

Blending top-of-class innovation, high-performance design and watchmaking mastery, the Swiss family-owned watch brand makes waves with two new Wild ONE Skeleton models in turquoise and burgundy – colours reminiscent of a day at the beach complete with a stunning sunset.

Combining two of its best-selling watches and a splashy new colour, NORQAIN has set out to make a statement with its Wild ONE Skeleton this summer. With its eye-catching turquoise and burgundy versions, this new timepiece evokes the feeling of a beach club holiday with picturesque blue water and breath-taking sunsets. The skeletonised movement NN08S is the same as the one in NORQAIN’s popular Independence Skeleton.

The watches are made with NORQAIN’s proprietary NORTEQ material which is known for being ultra-robust and ultra-lightweight. Thanks to the skeletonised movement, each watch weighs just 78 grams, which is more than 50% lighter than a stainless steel NORQAIN watch and six grams lighter than the current 84-gram Wild ONE models.

To mark this launch, NORQAIN is also introducing Italian Olympic swimmer Filippo Magnini as its newest ambassador and the face of the campaign. In addition to 17 gold medals from European Championships, the Italian freestyle-specialist is a four-time World Champion and won an Olympic bronze medal in Athens as part of the 4x200m relay team.

WILD ONE SKELETON IN FRESH TURQUOISE

With its striking turquoise rubber shock absorber and matching strap, this beachy Wild ONE captures the vibe of a laid-back day at a Mediterranean beach club while making an eye-catching statement. Sunbathing, swimming, or surfing – this robust timepiece carries with it an irrefutable reputation as the ultimate high-performance sports watch.

The Wild ONE timepiece has a revolutionary case construction that has been made to withstand the shocks and movements of high-performance sports while boasting an intriguing design. As with its predecessors, this watch has a rubber shock absorber that surrounds the titanium container in which the skeletonised NN08S ticks. Surrounding the shock absorber is a black case made of the brand’s proprietary NORTEQ material. The attractive turquoise colour of the shock absorber is also found printed on the open-worked black dial. The skeletonised indexes, hour hand and minute hand have turquoise X1 Superluminova while the central seconds hand has a white X1 Superluminova-filled tip with a turquoise outline. The screw-down crown is over-moulded with black rubber. This watch is available with an integrated animal cruelty-free turquoise rubber strap with a black edge (CHF 5’250).

The Wild ONE Skeleton Turquoise also comes with a special NORQAIN cap in the same turquoise colour, complete with the brand’s logo stitched in black on the front. It's the ideal accessory for a laid-back day by the shore.

LIMITED EDITION IN SUNSET BURGUNDY

While its turquoise counterpart has a lively colour perfect for daytime beach fun, this version has a darker, dreamier colour inspired by the breath-taking light of a summer sunset. The Wild ONE Skeleton Burgundy, featuring a colour that sold out immediately after the initial Wild ONE launch in 2022, is limited to 300 pieces.

This model has a burgundy NORTEQ case and black rubber shock absorber. The skeletonised movement is housed in a sandblasted titanium case. The black open-worked dial has white markings, and the red-gold-plated indexes and hands feature white X1 Superluminova. The transparent case back is engraved with “LIMITED EDITION – ONE OF 300”. An integrated animal cruelty-free black rubber strap completes this Wild ONE (CHF 5’450).

NORQAIN’S ROBUST SKELETONISED MOVEMENT

To mark its fifth anniversary in April 2023, NORQAIN introduced five new Independence timepieces including two new Independence Skeleton models. These were based on the forerunners of 2021 and 2022 which experienced immediate success and sold out instantly. Now the Wild ONE line integrates this highly desired skeletonised movement.

The unique structure of NORQAIN’s skeleton movements is based on the architectural principles of beam construction: each support point is held by at least two arms. This makes the movement sturdier and more durable than traditional construction.

EXTREMELY LIGHTWEIGHT, FOR EXTREME SPORTS

NORTEQ is an ultra-light, ultra-robust material that was created exclusively for NORQAIN and its watches and is the result of a close collaboration between NORQAIN, Jean-Claude Biver and BIWI SA. This high-performance material has a striking marble effect. The NORTEQ carbon fibre composite offers the perfect balance between density, elasticity and resistance for optimised shock-absorption. NORQAIN is the first watch brand to offer a mass dyed carbon fibre composite case allowing a variety of colours. In addition to the standard black carbon look, it also created a burgundy colour which was first presented in September 2022.

The watches’ robustness and shock-resistance are proven by withstanding stringent laboratory tests, which are conducted at 5000g and guarantee the timepiece will be safe during all kinds of sport activities. Water resistance to a depth of 200 metres expands the range of sports for which the Wild ONE is suited.
